Bicycle Commute - Day 1 ride home
Shondra asked me yesterday, 'what if it rains?' Tonight on the ride home I found out. You get wet.
When I arrived at the bus station tonight, skies were overcast and it was thundering a bit, but it looked like it was clearing. I hopped on the bike and headed towards home. About halfway there I hit a cloudburst. I pulled off the road and stood under the shelter of some trees until it lightened a bit. I really need to get some fenders and a rain jacket.
Got home safe, though. And as hot as the last few days have been, the rain felt nice on the ride.

I too am going the bike route. I am starting a blog on riding and not driving (I sold my car, am carless as of Friday).
Hope all is well.
Chris got his bike today. *sigh*
I haven't seen it yet, he was staying at Margaret & Trevors & it got too late to come home. He's not allowed to drive in the dark yet. (snicker)
Margaret says it's cool - Chris got some coolness points in Levi & Brandon's eyes for sure. He'll be home early morning, hopefully in time so I can sleep in.
I'm still not happy about it. Something about going into debt for 6 grand = saving money does not equate in my head.
My only comfort is that I'm the woman and thus if this turns out to be a bad decision, I get to duck when the poop flies. He knows how I stand on the issue, I shared it fully (and at times loudly with tears for good measure) so it's all his responsibility. This is beauty of being a wife!
On a side note, while writing this I heard a bang & a cry and after running upstairs, I found that Sam had fallen off the top bunk in his sleep. Ouch!
He's fine, just scared him good.
Love ya toddles!
